A poet! So you you get it. I encounter so many young readers of poetry who fixate on the expectation of (end) rhyme in poetry that they overlook rhythm and sound within the rest of the work. Billy Collins touches on this in his “Introduction to Poetry” where his students would rather dissect and abuse a poem than engage with it and appreciate it. Keep fighting the good fight.
