I struggled with this book. It was a lot of references to thinkers and writers I wasn’t familiar with. Made me realize the limited scope of my personal canon. I’ve started asking Twitter and Reddit to help me expand my horizons (usually in poetry) beyond the traditional white voices I’m comfortable and familiar with. It’s been an educational challenge to say the least.
